On the opening day of Lao Digital Week 2026, VIPs and dignitaries visited Evergreen AI at booth D1 to see sovereign AI built in Lao PDR: compute on Lao hydropower, with data, models and keys held in the country.

Lao Digital Week opens

On 21 October, Lao Digital Week 2026 opened at Lao-ITECC in Vientiane under the theme “Accelerating Digital Government, Cultivating a Digital Workforce, and Driving Innovation into the AI Era”. H.E. Dr. Santisouk Simmalavong, Minister of Technology and Communications, addressed the opening day.

VIPs and dignitaries toured the exhibition and stopped at booth D1, where the Evergreen AI team showed them sovereign AI built in Lao PDR. Sovereign AI: data, models and keys under Lao control. Green AI: inference and training on renewable Lao power. Secure AI: protected around the clock, from within Lao PDR.
