EVERGREEN1: a 5 MW AI compute and data centre on the LaoSat campus, Vientiane

EVERGREEN1 is our first AI compute and data centre: 5 MW on the LaoSat campus in Vientiane, built as five IT lines of up to 1 MW, each with its own cooling, energy and networking, and powered by Lao hydropower.

Memorandum of Understanding signed

22 October 2026 · With the Lao Satellite State Enterprise, on the main stage of Lao Digital Week 2026 in Vientiane, for the feasibility study for the development of an AI Computer Data Center. Dr. Sulivong Luangaphay, our Founder & Chief Executive Officer, signed for Evergreen AI.

How AI data centres are built now

The companies building AI data centres have moved the work into the factory. Compute, power, cooling and networking arrive as factory-built, factory-tested containers and connect to a site that was prepared at the same time. This is how we build EVERGREEN1.

Compute containers

Compute is built as five IT lines of up to 1 MW, each with its own factory-built IT module. Each IT line carries its own cooling, energy and networking through fixed interfaces, so a line can be added, exchanged or serviced without touching its neighbours.

Power modules

Firm Lao hydropower arrives at the campus substation on two independent 22 kV lines. Buried cables carry it through the common electrical interface to the factory platform, where it runs in cable trays under the deck to every line's power module, with a UPS layer. Photovoltaic generation on the canopy adds to it.

On-site generation

Every IT line has its own containerised gas-engine set at the head of the line, beside its power module. It covers dips on the grid, carries the line through an outage and bridges new capacity while larger grid connections are brought in.

Cooling

Every IT line cools itself in a closed loop: air at the equipment inside the IT module, and cooling water that runs through the shared cooling distribution modules to the line's own cooling source module, where dry coolers open to the sky reject the heat. Two water treatment modules keep the loop in condition, and no water is consumed in normal operation. Coolant supply and return are capped at every position, so a liquid-cooled system can be connected later without civil work.

Network

Every IT module has its own connection to the fibre backbone that runs under the deck, and a separate management network reaches the operations centre on its own path. Three independent routes out of the country arrive at the factory on separate entries, each on its own physical path: a protected international line from LaoSat's campus data centre, the national carriers through their own campus entry, and the LaoSat-1 satellite, worked from LaoSat's campus teleport.

Site and structure

The factory stands on a raised steel platform on tapered steel pods, above the 1-in-200-year flood level, with no concrete in the structure. Cables and fibre run in trays under the deck, and the cooling pipework runs on low racks between the modules.

Solar canopy

A canopy of flat engineered leaves covers the power modules, the IT modules and the cooling distribution modules, and leaves the generating sets and the cooling source modules open to the sky. The leaves are carried on central steel supports: panel-clad steel trunks inside the canopy, each with a hub at its head and branches out to the ridges of the leaves, so there are no supports at the outer edges. Every leaf is slanted, so rain runs to the outer edge, and every leaf carries photovoltaic generation across its area.

Our plan for EVERGREEN1: built the same way, spread out on one level

EVERGREEN1 is bought as factory-built, factory-tested modules and assembled on a prepared site, as the industry now builds. Our one deliberate difference: the land at LaoSat lets us spread the modules out on a single level instead of packing them tight.

Inside an IT line · Air-cooled

Air at the equipment: fan walls draw shaded air through the racks and reject the heat dry. The liquid supply and return wait at every position, pressure tested and capped.

Inside an IT line · Liquid connected

When a client brings liquid-cooled systems, the capped connection is opened and the racks are cooled at the chip — without civil work and without touching the neighbours.

Factory-built containers

Every function arrives factory-built and factory-tested: compute, storage, power, cooling, networking and the operations centre.

Five IT lines of up to 1 MW

Cooling, energy and networking are built by IT line. Each line has its own, behind fixed interfaces, so growth is an order rather than a construction job.

One level, spread wide

Nothing stacks. Every container has its own route in and out and can be exchanged without moving a neighbour; spacing keeps air paths and risks separate.

A raised steel deck on piles

Every module stands above the 1-in-200-year flood level, with no concrete in the structure and nothing underground.

One solar canopy

The canopy shades the containers, keeps tropical rain off their connections and carries photovoltaic generation across its area.

Hydropower first

Firm Lao hydropower on two independent grid lines and containerised gas-engine generation feed a power module and UPS on every IT line.

Air-cooled, liquid-ready

Every IT line cools itself: air at the equipment, heat rejected dry and no water consumed in normal operation. A capped liquid connection waits at every position.

Three routes out

A network connection on every IT line, and two terrestrial routes and one by satellite out of the country, from the national satellite campus.

GPU leasing in Lao PDR

Our main product is GPU leasing. We lease dedicated GPUs to offtakers, the clients who take capacity from us under a lease, and run them for you in our data centres. You can also place your own equipment with us, have us supply and host it, or use compute we operate.

GPU leasing

We buy the GPUs, install them in our data centre and lease them to you for an agreed term. They are yours alone to use for the whole term, and we power, cool, connect and operate them on clean Lao hydropower.

Colocation

You bring your servers or racks. We provide the space, power, cooling and connectivity; you keep ownership and run your environment.

Managed hosting

You own the equipment; we host it and run it for you, from monitoring to maintenance.

Equipment with hosting

We source and install an agreed hardware configuration in our facility. Buy it or lease it, with support and operations defined in the package.

Compute service

Use compute without buying or running the hardware: reserved accelerator capacity, a dedicated cluster, or inference output.

Dedicated build

For large installations we develop capacity around your hardware and operating requirements — compute, networking, storage, power and cooling in one specified installation, with reference designs such as NVIDIA DGX B300 servers and GB300 NVL72 racks, or your own specification.

Marsh

Marsh insures what we build and what our clients bring: one policy for our data centres, and one for the hardware our clients host with us.

Why Lao PDR: compute follows energy

At this scale, the cost of intelligence moves toward the cost of power. Lao PDR holds clean hydropower in surplus.

For investors: own an AI data centre in Lao PDR

We develop, build and operate AI data centres, and our clients lease GPUs and buy compute and hosting in them. Investors can own them: an IT line, a whole site, or the compute equipment inside it.

Own a data centre

An IT line or a whole site. We build it and operate it, and fill it with clients.

Own the compute

In a Capacity Partnership you keep title to the equipment; we operate it and sell its output, and you are paid under an agreed fee or revenue arrangement.
